Here's Cooper
Photo cards are so much fun to receive. Here's an example of a quick and easy one for you to make. Using the snowflake layers, simply mount it over a photo of your little one. We used four small pieces of double stick mounting tape in the corners of the card to make the snowflake layer stick out just a little. Stamp your favorite greeting and the card is done. This card is sure to create a smile.

Brunch
The invitation sets the tone for the party so start it out right! This holiday brunch invitation was printed on a laser printer on snowflake vellum. Notice how two different fonts were used in the layout. The snowflake stamp was stamped on the vellum. The block was stamped on the blue paper underneath using white ink. The silver eyelet holds the two layers together.

Santa
Santa was stamped with black ink on white paper and embossed with clear embossing powder. The details were colored in with prismacolored pencils. The "merry christmas" stamp on the front finished off the card. It's very popular this year to use the mini greetings on your cards. It adds another design element and it gives you a chance to use another color in your creation.

A Cookie Gift
These CD tins are fun to use for packaging during the holidays. Here we made large snowflake cookies to give to our friends at work for their coffee break! Snow vellum was placed under the cookie. A snowflake layer decorated the top.

Snowflake Card
The snowflake was stamped with white ink on blue satin ribbon. The ribbon was then glued to the back of the circle frame. The back side of the card was finished off with a white piece of paper cut to fit. Rhinestones were added to finish off the front of card. They always add a special touch.

Snowman Teabag Card
When the recipient gets this card, they can sit down and brew a cup of tea! The snowman peaking out of the small square window is attached to the string of a tea bag. Here's how it was made. Print the tiny words "warm holiday wishes" using a computer onto a piece of silver card stock. Using your favorite punch, (sorry, the snowman is no longer available) position the lettering so when you punch out your shape the words are on it. Punch out an extra shape in silver so you can sandwich the string of the tea bag between. Lightly Glue the bottom of the snowman to the inside of the punched out square so his head is peaking out. A glassine envelope holds the teabag in place inside. Click on the photo to see the inside of the card.

WE GOT OUR TREE!
When I saw this card at one of the Impress stores, I knew it was one I wanted to share with you. I love the whimsical style. Several layers of paper were used on this example. Starting with a crimson card, a celery green layer was added. A slightly smaller white layer was added on top of that. The navy layer came next. It's the same width as the white layer but only 2/3rds the length. Before gluing the navy layer on, a night sky was created by using a 1/16" anywhere hole punch. The pale blue layer came last. It's curved top hides the straight bottom of the navy sky. The car was inked with two colors and then stamped on the pale blue. To make the exhaust, the 1/4" anywhere hole punch was used.

Popup Photo Card
Our holiday idea show had a blue, white and silver theme so we couldn't resist playing with the color copy machine to carry the theme through on our photo card projects. Here we made a copy of Emma and played with the buttons to get a blue only image. We liked the new look! To make the card we used a popup technique that has been around for a long time but we still like to use it. Click on the photo and you'll see a diagram of how the card basically works. When the card is mailed it folds flat, the ribbon attached to the photo lets the recipient know what to do. We didn't put dimesions on the diagram as you'll want to change them to suit the size of the object you want to popup. Have fun making your own version.

HAPPY WINTER
We used our new sentiment "Happy Winter" to give this card a contempory style. We stamped the reverse snowflake block on a piece of white paper and then attached it to the navy layer with one blue eyelet. We purposely did not glue the white layer so the paper can move around just slightly as it's handled.

4720A Happy Winter
Eyelets - Blue
ColorBox Ink - Colonial Blue, Royal Blue

Let It Snow
Click on the photo and you'll notice the touch we love to add during the holidays - glitter! Using glitter on a project seems to add a bit of magic and make the card come to life! For this card we first stamped the block using a soft color, colonial blue. We then stamped the snowflakes with silver ink. Notice the technique of masking the edges so some of the snowflakes are only partially showing. The greeting was stamped in silver. To finish off the card we added the touches of glitter using a product called glitter glue.
