Decorate that Envelope

Don't go to all that trouble to make a wonderful handmade card and then send it in a plain envelope! Here's a few ideas of things you can do to an envelope to make a great first impression for the person who picks up the mail. Add envelope label wraps, rub ons, large monogram stamps and stamped images. Don't forget to use fun fonts and color. If you're writing on a dark colored envelope, you'll want a white, silver or gold pen.

Snowflake Tree

Punch out snowflakes from your favorite colored cardstock. I love the color combination used on this card. When gluing down the snowflakes, just glue the center dot to the card. That way the ends of the snowflakes stand out a bit from the card and give it some dimension and interest.

Frosty Snowflake

I love how the Impress glitter looks on this card. The larger size pieces of glitter look just like crystals of ice on the snowflake image. The background is stamped in blue sage, the snowflake is stamped in island the greeting in chocolate brown.

Folded Tree

Stamp your zig zag tree on a piece of cardstock, cut it out and score it down the middle. Using the same ink color, stamp the tree on your card. Glue the cut out tree to the card along the folded line only so most of the tree stands away from the card. Use a mini star brad to top the tree.

Swirl Punch

Here's a fun way to use the swirl punch when creating a photo card. The background was created by multiple stamping the snowflake stamp. The swirl design is 2 7/8 x 3/8.

Packaged Treats

What a creative way to package treats. We saw this idea on Jen del Muro's blog. We've had the large clear boxes and the clear tubes for a long time but we never realized they would work so well together. Thank Jen for a great idea! Here's our version of the packaging idea. The score it board works great to help score the insert. We used the swirl punch to decorate it.

Mini Brad Frame

Stamp the frame on a piece of scratch paper and then cut out the center using a detailed scissors. Use the mask when filling the frame with other images. Here we added part of the branch stamp and a few mini ornament brads.
