You'll love the new computer font packages. Use them to
design your next party invitation. The flags were stamped
with the Impress alphabet on vellum paper and then sewn to
the base card.
This daisy invitation will set the tone for a fun
garden shower. Make a glassine pocket from a 2" x 2"
glassine envelope by cutting off the flap and then using
a small circle punch to make a half circle notch. Print
the folded invitation on your computer and
then fold so only the words "you're invited" will show
through the glassine pocket.
Circle Flowers
Use two sizes of circle punches to make these vellum flowers.
Add pastel rhinestones to the center for a nice contrast
to the simple circle shapes. The leaves were handcut and then
glued with our new glue stick. It works great when you want
to glue vellum flat to a card and not have any glue show.
For the circle flowers, we used a
dot of crafter's pick as we wanted the vellum to stick out a bit from
the card. We also used it for the rhinestones.
Cut a rectangle out of a piece of scratch paper so you can
mask this card. Use your daubers to create the sky and
draw in a few dashed lines with a fine tip pen to suggest the movement of your
butterflies. Pink and orange are popular colors this season.
At Impress we've been using Brilliance stamp pads
called pearlescent orange and pearlescent
coral a lot and we're loving the combination.
Make a keepsake box for your favorite graduate. For this
box we glued four 3 1/4" white envelopes together to make
a line of envelopes to tuck money, personal notes and photos into.
Here's how to glue the envelopes together: lay down the first
envelope and have the flap open. Wet that flap and then lay
the body of the second envelope down right next to the first one over
the moistened flap. That glues those two together. Then wet the second envelope's
flap and keep adding envelopes until your line of envelopes is as
long as you want it. This is a fun technique to use with
any size envelope.
This fun invitation is sure to draw attention. Notice the
beaded center on the flower. It's a nice touch. Click here to download the shape of
the purse when open.
Cut the pattern out and then fold into thirds to make your
own purse card. This could make a fun card for Mom too!
A total of six punched out butterflies were used to make this
card. The three clear vellum shapes were layered over the
butterflies punched out of the blue and polka dot paper.
