It's so fun to make small packages of goodies for friends and co workers for the holidays.
Wouldn't someone like to find this on their desk when they arrived at work?
Make this clever folded package by starting with a square piece of paper.
With one point toward you, fold in the two sides so they evenly overlap and
then fold down the top flap. We printed the words on our computer and then punched them out
using the fancy square punch. When making projects like this, we love to use the paper lined double
stick tape.
Adding a wreath around a photo is always a fun design to do.
Here we used a snowflake punch. Note the simple knotted velvet ribbon at
the top of the wreath. We glued the ribbon to the card so it lays nice
and flat. When gluing ribbon to a card like this, we use crafter's glue.
This whimsical frame from Savvy is the perfect frame for
this fun photo. The greeting can either be printed using your
home computer and printer (if you do this, don't forget to print in a color
and fun font) or you can have a custom stamp made.
Don't go to all that trouble to make a wonderful handmade card
and then send it in a plain envelope! Here's a few ideas of things
you can do to an envelope to make a great first impression for the person who picks up the mail.
Add envelope label wraps, rub ons, large monogram stamps and stamped images.
Don't forget to use fun fonts and color. If you're writing on a dark
colored envelope, you'll want a white, silver or gold pen.
Think about being green this holiday and help spread the message by sending a
card like this! Even the reindeer has a green nose. Pear Fresh ink was used to
stamp the damask.
This giant snowflake punch looks great when covered with
Impress glitter. White fresh ink was used to stamp the background.
I love the grey and white combination.
Have fun creating your own
winter scene with these winter punches. The card was cut from duplex paper which
is white on one side, colored on the other.
Don't forget to use your corner rounder! It adds so much to the
design of a card. Here we used the giant snowflake punch to
create a window in the card. When the card is shut, you get just a
peak of the photo inside.
Punch out snowflakes from your favorite colored cardstock.
I love the color combination
used on this card. When gluing down the snowflakes, just glue the center dot to the card.
That way the ends of the snowflakes stand out a bit from the card and give it some
dimension and interest.
I love how the Impress glitter looks on this card.
The larger size pieces of glitter look just like crystals
of ice on the snowflake image. The background is stamped in
blue sage, the snowflake is stamped in island the greeting in chocolate brown.
Stamp your zig zag tree on a piece of cardstock, cut it
out and score it down the middle. Using the same ink color,
stamp the tree on your card. Glue the cut out tree to the
card along the folded line only so most of the tree stands away from the card.
Use a mini star brad to top
the tree.
Here's a fun way to use the swirl punch when creating a
photo card. The background was created by multiple stamping the
snowflake stamp. The swirl design is 2 7/8 x 3/8.
What a creative way to package treats. We saw this idea
on Jen del Muro's blog. We've had the large clear boxes and the clear tubes for
a long time but we never realized they would work so well together. Thank Jen
for a great idea! Here's our version of the packaging idea. The score it board
works great to help score the insert. We used the swirl punch
to decorate it.
Stamp the frame on a piece of scratch paper and then cut out the center using a detailed scissors.
Use the mask when filling the frame with other images.
Here we added part of the branch stamp and a few mini ornament brads.
Planning a holiday party? The invitation sets the tone of the whole event
so start planning now. The slits for the ribbon were made with an exacto
knife. The ribbon was attached before the two layers were put together.
Design a custom stamp for your favorite book reader.
You can give them the stamp or make some custom book plates for them.
The chocolate brown boxes are perfect for packaging them in.
It's fun during the holidays to give a small food gift
to co-workers and neighbors.
At our 2008 holiday idea show, we showed these ideas
for packaging.
